To celebrate the millennium Aldermaston Parish Hall put on dinner theatre evenings with The Players providing the entertainment in the form of an Old Time Music Hall.
Diners arrived at 7pm and were served with their starters and main course before the entertainment began. The Old Time Music Hall started in traditional fashion with the chorus belting out well known songs from the Victorian and Edwardian eras. This was followed by solo numbers from our artistes.
Following dessert, a melodrama was enacted in traditional fashion with lots of boos and hisses for baddies and cheers for our heroes.
The final part was a tribute to “Our Gallant Boys” of the Great War with songs of the period. The evening ended in again very traditional style with “Down at the Old Bull and Bush”.
All this was to help raise funds for the Parish Hall.
